Hidey-ho, neighbor and welcome to my list of hyperlinks to help you deceide on a suspension system - - note this is for coil overs, leafs and bump stops.  Even though the majority, okay all of it, are from Toyota forums.
The information is still good for all types of small pick-up trucks or SUV.

The biggest advice that anyone could give to a person looking to do a lift is to ask these simple questions.
1)  How much are you willing to spend
2)  What type of off roading are you going to do
3)  What type of driver are you
4)  Is your truck a DD or trailer rig
5)  Do you plan to haul stuff and how much
6)  Did your wife/gf approve the purchase

Use these links below to read and understand....

That should be it...but to read, learn, listen and if possible, ride with some guys and gals that have different systems to see how they like it and how it handles.

Good Luck!

EDIT:  In case you are wondering about "airbag / airlift suspensions"
Here are some links that will help.
There are two main players - Firestone and Airlift.
Airbag/airlift systems are for mainly used for heavy hauling purposes.
Or level loading of any loads you may be hauling or pulling on your tow hitch.

And if anyone ever has airride questions... just let me know.
I used to sell/install that stuff for 4 years on lowered/custom trucks.
